Dear Butterfly Dreamz,
I'm going through family problems that I have no idea how to deal with. It's really affecting my stress. What should I do?
Family problems are usually complicated for a number of reasons. Here's two common ones:
We don't get to choose our family. And although we love them, sometimes we don't like them very much.
As a teen, adult family members often talk "at you," rather than "listening to you."
We discussed your question at our last Write to Lead meeting, and most of us recommend that you find a trustworthy person to talk to — even if that person is not in your family. Talking will allow you to release your emotions, process your feelings, and hear thoughts from someone who is not involved in the situation (they may give you a different view on things).
